Our Equipment

Cascade Fishing Adventures - Jet Boat

Cascade Fishing Adventures Equipment On your guided fishing adventure, all the gear and tackle you will need is supplied for you. This will included rods, reels, lures, bait and waders where needed.

Our sturgeon fishing gear has been selected with over 30 years of sturgeon fishing experience dictating what works best. Customized, hand built glass rods and high end reels loaded with braided line is the main starting point of our sturgeon gear.

Salmon fishing encompasses a number of different tactics including bar fishing (ledgering a spinning glow), spin casting, and fly fishing. The majority of these rods are graphite rods, noted for their light weight and sensitivity. Spinning and level wind reels are the mainstay reels we use for durability and ease of use for our guests.

For the fly angler, we have rods and reels available to use. However, fly fishing is a very intimate method, and we suggest fly anglers bring their own rods and reels to use. If you are new to fly fishing, or just beginning your fly fishing journey, we will provide you with rods and reels and helpful instruction.

Our Boats

This is our 35th year in business on the Fraser River and its local tributaries. Because of this, we’ve learned a thing or two in our travels about what works when it comes to jetboats and fishing equipment.

Cascade Fishing Adventures Jet Boats We cover all the bases for your guided adventure on the Fraser and can be found fishing anywhere from the tidal boundary bridge at Mission, upstream in the canyon to the historic gold rush town of Yale. This distance of approximately 110 kilometers (65 miles) provides all the scenery and superb sturgeon and salmon fishing that you are looking for. The boats and fishing equipment we provide have to be purpose-built to cover the variety of river environments and fish species that we will encounter.

Cascade Fishing Adventure’s guide boats are 21 – 24 foot all aluminum jet boats powered by 300hp inboard V8 engines. All guide boats are equipped with a full top, complete with side windows and back-drop curtains, as well as heaters. Every boat is professionally outfitted with all the fishing equipment you will need to enjoy your day on the Fraser River. Most importantly, your guide boat is operated by a safe, conscientious and professional fishing guide.

The boats are towed to the boat launch daily by 4 wheel drive, crew cab pick-up trucks, which are generally diesel powered. Each morning, you will be picked up at our centrally located marshaling point – The Coast Hotel in downtown Chilliwack. You will be transported to the boat launch in these vehicles, driven by your fishing guide for that day. At the end of the day, you will be transported back to The Coast Hotel.

Current regulations by Transport Canada (TC) require all commercial guide boats to be registered with TC to ensure the boats meet the strict commercial standards of safety. Our boats ALL comply to this standard.
